We lacked cutting edge - Hume

Sun 11 May, 04:30 PM

Leicester striker Iain Hume admits his side's lack of firepower was a major factor in their relegation from the Championship this season. The Foxes were demoted to League One despite an excellent defensive record after Hume and his fellow frontmen often misfired in front of goal.

"I didn't score enough and I know all the other strikers would say the same," said Hume, who hit 11 goals.

"We haven't done the defence justice and for us to go down with the second best defensive record in the league is a travesty.

"Our defenders were brilliant and gave us a real fighting chance of staying up, but we could not produce in front of goal on a regular basis."
