Hamilton have launched an appeal against the red card shown to James McArthur during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Inverness.
The midfielder was sent off by Charlie Richmond following a 66th-minute challenge on Filipe Morais.
The Scotland Under-21 international got the ball but Morais was initially hurt as the player slid in with his studs showing.
Hamilton hope to have the decision overturned so the 21-year-old can take part in Wednesday's crucial Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash against Falkirk at New Douglas Park.
Accies secretary Scott Struthers said: "We have submitted the match DVD together with the appeal fee and a detailed letter outlining the particulars of our claim.
"The situation is that this will now go back before the match referee who will be asked to view the incident again. The matter will be reviewed prior to our match on Wednesday night."
