Aldershot boss Gary Waddock has quashed rumours that Andy Sandell will join Blue Square Premier side Oxford.

The midfielder joined the Shots on loan from Salisbury in November 2008 before making the move permanent in January and Waddock insists the 25-year-old is going nowhere.

He told the Aldershot News & Mail: "He is not going. I spoke to him and he is totally committed to Aldershot.

"The rumours and speculation do not help. He slotted back into League football with us, playing in a number of positions, and he wants to play in the Football League."

But while Waddock expects Sandell to stay, he has no new signings in the pipeline. He added: "To be brutally honest, I think there will be nothing happening for a while.

"It may not be until we are in to pre-season that the picture becomes more clear."
