Eurosport took a look at new Manchester United signing Nani during Portugal's European Under-21 Championships draw with Belgium - and found nothing to write home about.
To be fair to the diminutive forward the whole Portugal side - highly-rated and featuring the likes of Manuel Fernandes and Yannick Djalo - were a disappointment, looking bereft of creative ideas and taking too many touches in front of a highly organized and competitive Belgium.
Nani showed pace and some neat skill but lacked discipline both with the ball at his feet and without.
He could have been sent off early on when he retaliated badly to a sneaky kick from former Spurs man Jonathan Blondel, who gave him further warning as to the physical nature of the Premiership when he left him squealing in a heap after a shove in the back midway through the first half.
The former Sporting man looked more sprightly in the second period but had little effect, Portugal's few chances coming from Fernandes and Hugo Almeida.
But, despite lacking experience, he has the pace and the skill and no doubt under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson will develop into a serious threat at Manchester United.
