Zoltan Gera has revealed that Fulham's strong desire to sign him was the deciding factor in his move from West Brom on a three-year contract.The Hungarian turned down the offer of a new contract at The Hawthorns to join Fulham on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old was also linked with Middlesbrough, Wigan, Everton, Bolton and Benfica and he admits there were a number of interesting offers.

Gera accepts that it was a difficult choice but is delighted to be joining Roy Hodgson's Fulham, where he has penned a three-year deal with the option for an extra year after 2011.

"I'm very happy and untroubled as it's done," he told his homeland press.

"There was a huge pressure on me, the decision I had to make affects my whole life.

"I had detailed offers from some teams and it wasn't an easy choice. I told myself I had to go to the club which wanted me the most.

"But this viewpoint didn't ease my situation because luckily there were a couple of teams that gladly wanted me and WBA wanted me to stay too.

"I've chosen Fulham, because I felt they were keen on me a little bit more than the other clubs."

Gera added: "This is a new challenge for me and, having spoken to (Fulham manager) Roy Hodgson, I'm impressed with the club's aims. I'm confident I can play a worthy part."

Hodgson told Fulham's website: "Zoltan is a versatile player whose skill and athleticism make him an ideal attacking midfield player but he can also play as a striker.

"He had a lot of options when he decided to move and we are delighted he chose to come to Fulham."
