Hitman eager to maintain form

Wed 11 Jun, 03:45 PM

Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake insists he will avoid "setting himself up for a fall" by aiming to repeat last season's prolific form. The 22-year-old was the Championship's top goalscorer last term with 25 goals - 12 of which were scored for the Molineux outfit following his £1.5million move from Plymouth in January - but he insists his outstanding form will not burden him with unachievable expectation next term.

Ebanks-Blake told the club's official website: "For me it's not necessarily about trying to improve from last season. It's about maintaining what I did and doing all the right things that helped me enjoy the season I had. Anything other than that would be setting myself up for a fall because I had an unbelievable season.

"I managed to get in amongst the goals and any striker would settle for that sort of tally, but if I score 15-plus next season it won't necessarily be a worse season.

"It's not a case of how many you score, or how many you don't score, it's just a case of staying fit and keeping up to the standards I set myself.

"If I can do that then I'm pretty much heading towards what I'm aiming for."
