Struggling Bradford are set to give engage Super League debuts to youngsters Kieran Hyde and Keal Carlile at St Helens on Friday night.
Bulls coach Steve McNamara has included the 18-year-old part-timers in his 19-man squad after hooker Terry Newton (shoulder), prop Andy Lynch (back) and winger Tame Tupou (knee) joined the club's mounting injury list.
McNamara is now without seven regulars, including influential forward Glenn Morrison, who was today ruled out for the rest of the season.
Skipper Paul Deacon, Wayne Godwin and Chris Nero are among the other absentees, although there is some good news with the return of winger Semi Tadulala from a two-match absence with a dislocated shoulder.
Second rower Morrison missed the Bulls' last two games with what was thought to be a "dead leg" sustained in last month's defeat by Leeds but now a specialist has revealed he both tore a quad and broke part of his kneecap.
Morrison, the club's vice-captain, now faces an operation to re-attach the muscle and will spend three months in a leg brace.
"I wasn't expecting this," he said. "I just thought I'd got a bad 'cork.' It is disappointing but the one positive is I'm signed next year.
"Hopefully I'll be right for a big off-season, which I didn't get this time, and ready for a big 2009."
McNamara, whose side have lost their last three matches, said: "We're all just really devastated for Glenn more than anything and he's understandably absolutely gutted.
"How he managed to carry on playing with that injury shows just what sort of an amazing character he is. It's unbelievable really. It turned out he didn't sleep for four nights due to the pain.
"He tried to do everything he could to get back for last week's match and was going to hold his hand up again but we suspected there was something more sinister going on. It's another situation we've got to deal with but we will get on and do that."
