Phelps Set For Bow

Wed 11 Jun, 01:09 PM

Cameron Phelps could make his Wigan debut against Catalans Dragons this weekend but Gareth Hock and Phil Bailey are both doubtful for the trip to France.

Australian centre Phelps joined the Warriors from Canterbury last month and could feature in Saturday's engage Super League clash in Perpignan after a successful run-out in the reserves.

Phelps could replace Bailey, who suffered a groin injury in Wigan's Challenge Cup defeat at Leeds 11 days ago.

Coach Brian Noble also has concerns over forward Hock after an ankle knock in training.

With captain Sean Loughlin still missing, prop Andy Coley may have to switch to the second row against the Dragons.

Noble said: "It could go either way on both players, it's 50-50. It's fair to say neither have practised yet but we are hoping for better on Thursday.

"If both miss out it could leave us a bit skinny for back-rowers."
