Top seed Andy Murray quickly found his feet on grass at Queen's Club, posting a 6-1 6-4 victory over Italy's Andreas Seppi to reach the third round of the Wimbledon warm-up tournament.
The world number three, who reached the quarter-finals of the French Open last week and will carry his country's hopes at Wimbledon later this month, produced his full repertoire of angles, spins and power to subdue the 48th-ranked Seppi.
The 22-year-old sped through the first set and broke early in the second, only to hand a break back to Seppi who gamely stuck with the Scot until serving to stay alive at 4-5.
Murray, who had a first-round bye, brought up two match points with an audacious hooked forehand down the line from behind his body and wrapped up a routine victory at the first attempt.
"I started very well," Murray said. "I played one poor game to let him back in but it was very tricky conditions with the wind and the cold, a bit different from Paris.
"It was a bit slippy on the sides of the court but I felt like I moved quite well and was happy as it was my first match."
Croatian fifth seed Marin Cilic was bundled out 7-6 7-6 by qualifier Nicolas Mahut despite the Frenchman losing his favourite racket in the locker room before going on to court.
"That's never happened to me before," said Mahut, who reached the final in 2007 when he lost to Andy Roddick. "Luckily I had four other rackets in my bag."
Murray takes on Guillermo Garcia Lopez in the last 16 after the Spaniard put out Gilles Muller of Luxembourg.

I do hope that Murray will be having an early exit at Wimbledon to get what he deserves. If so,I'm gonna CELEBRATE again, like for the french open!!!:-D
I am not a Murray fan but would like to see him do well at queens and wimbledon.Think he has more chance of winning the us open though as hard courts suits his game.Good luck.
NADAL IS OFF BECAUSE HE DOESN'T TAKE DRUGS ANYMORE!!!I AM SURE THAT THIS GUY IS TAKING DRUGS!YOU CAN SEE IT IN HIS FACE AND REACTIONS!!NADAL IS A VERY GOOD PLAYER BUT HE WILL NEVER BE ROGER FEDERER,WHATEVER HE DOES!
of course referring to 'ireland' I meant Rep. of Ireland. :-)
No.49 Well Jimmy maybe they SHOULD give more coverage to the 'almost surprise' result or 'performance of the day report', it would be refreshing indeed, but that would be as an EXTRA article, the UK folk will always want to read about someone playing under their flag(I know not Ireland...no offense folks). The same way I would guess that the other regional Eurosport sites will give favourable coverage to ITS local players.
siskra83 brilliant comparison.
And regarding Federer's fans.....I am sorry if I am offending them, but to be sincere they look like Jerry from cartoons.......for 1,5 year they were in the hole...and at RG being Tom absent, they were making parties
And regarding Dimitrov, Jimmy is right, after watching him in R. where he took a set from Rafa and the other match when like yesterday he was about to win against Simon, I predict him a brilliant future...He has quality, he needs only big matches to be more experience ....and what is the most important he is not afraid of anybody unlike some players especially when they play against Federer
siskra83 wisely said, as always.
No.48 I'll tell you why: Because world no.3 beating world no.48 is not news nor is it surprising.
World no.7 or 8 ( I forget) being tested to the limit by world no.326 is something that should catch our attention.
And yes, Murray sneezes and there is an article about that. As I said, there are other players around, and they happen to sneeze too, from time to time. Why aren't we treated to a story about that too?
No 37, Och aye Jimmy ! Yes Eurosport UK & Ireland dedicates a lot of time to the WORLD No.3, why wouldn't it ? Durrrrrrr ! :-)
Not a huge fan of the MAN, but I couldn't argue with his play yesterday. The sliced lob over the advancing Seppi in the first set was class ! Well done to the future of Tennis for years to come. English then British then European and proud of it. :-)
@39, it was a time....with 28 years, after 11attempts and without Rafa in the final. Murray is young and he he has all the time in front of him......and do not forget to compare the competition 3-4-5 years ago with now a days. So,?

Queen’s mickey mouse cup? I don’t understand this. In Spain we think Queen’s (and of course Halle) is a very important cup. ATP points are important but more important is play on grass before Wimbledon. If players play good tennis in Queen’s probably will play good tennis in Wimbledon too. This is very important for Nadal go to Queen’s unfortunately this year he’s not there.
I can’t wait for Wimbledon “The Grand Slam Tournament.”
Federer grows potatos
Jack likes to lick mens balls in $hit houses.Jack = t.w.a.t
Hope Murray will beat Federer's a*s at Wimbledon. Cant wait for him to retire. He is so Boring.
federer just won roland garros, let see when andy will win any slam tournament!!!!!!!
