Sergio Aguero has emerged as a reported target for Chelsea, but is the Argentinian the right man for the Blues?
He may only be 21 years old but having scored 17 goals for Atletico Madrid last season, he certainly knows where the goal is.
And with Didier Drogba still to commit his future to the Stamford Bridge club, it is easy to see why Chelsea want the man dubbed the 'new Maradona' at Stamford Bridge.
But his wage demands could prove a sticking point. According to reports, Aguero is demanding an enormous £6.5m a year after tax, a figure that would net him nearly £11m a season - even more than what Kaka is getting a Real Madrid.
Is he worth that kind of money? Is anyone?
Who else might Chelsea target if that amount proves too much, even for Roman Abramovich?

Hagensigurdsson: "Chelsea do not need big signings. What the club needs is a decent midfielder to replace aging Ballack, and a striker, with a potential of becoming team's main attacking force. Our reserve team has players like Di Santo, Woods, Kakuta, Sinclair, Mancienne, Stoch. Those kids need to be played, they have to receive first team action, so that in a couple of yers time, they could become first team regulars."
David J: "Chelsea need (a) one or two strikers given the imminent suspension of The Drog (Aguero and Villa), (b) a creative midfielder (Pato) and (c) a wide right player (Ribery, though he has mainly played wide left for Bayern). Kalou hasn't made the grade and wants out, so let him go, along with Belletti and Ferreira. Di Santo, Mancienne and Stoch need to be played more - in the Carling Cup. With an eye to Napoleon's 6+5 plans (urgh!), we should snap up Ashely Young while we can and turn him into the great player he is destined to become."
Andrew P: "Chelsea should go for Ribery at all costs and try for Van der Vaarr or Robben from Real Madrid along with another striker... but who?"
sloany_14: "The players who should go are: Belletti, Deco, Ferriera, Hilario, Pizarro, Malouda, Minero, Carvalho and Ballack. For all nine of those players we should get at least £50 million for them. So over all we will have a good balance between youth and experience and the flair of young and Aguero that will keep roman happy and no one will be able to say that we bought the title."
arseni250: "Chelsea only should buy Zlatan Ibrahimovich and Yuri Zhirkov. Ballack still has a one year contract and we still have Mikel and Belletti to back him up."
Dylan: "Chelsea need to buy a fast striker like Aguero or Villa. They also need someone like Ribery, who has the speed and skills to take it round players. Only Coley has that and he in on the verge of a move to Spurs."

aguero is perferct for chelsea..chelsea needs fast n skillful striker not slow n old strikers like drog n anelka....i think chelsea sud buy david villa, pato ,aguero n tough defenders..who can hold the strikers of liverpool united n arsenal..so come on new manager..ancelloti jus do as i ve mentioned..here
chelsea for life? nxt season's title n champion league is ours!!!!
chelsea need fast n skill ful forward who can strike in right time....... like tevez..aguero,pato .....n villa..forget ribery i think he is not fit in chelsea..
yeah.....Aguero and Pato are young and they have their own skill..... so this is our change to train them to become a legend.... i think chelsea should sign aguero and pato.... then for next season, chelsea should stick with the 4-3-3 formation... chech K, ashey cole, terry, alex, bosingwa, mikel, asien, lampard, pato, drogba and aguero.. I think this fomation most suitable for chelsea....
For me, Pato is a better choice. AT least he has higher chance to suite the physicality in the premier league due to his power and speed. By the way, is Ribery really that good and we required to spend so much. How about Ashley Young and Aaron Lennon. COme on, they are more proven in the premier league and at a much cheaper price and they are young. Lastly, the most important one a miedfielder who can turn a game around. Currently, there will be no one who can do that accept for Messi, Kaka and Gerrard and we missed out on Kaka which is A HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT. But, Arjen Robben may be a very good buy. He is proven in the premier league and proven in Chelsea. He playes so well. Or who else? any suggestions? Sneidjer, Van der vaart????
KUN is right for any team!
Gregory Odumo. from my own point of view Chelsea needs a quick, sharp, aggressive, skillfull attacker, that do score a goal within a blink of an eye and a playmaker that can hold on to the ball as much as he can, run with the ball, dance with it, speak to the ball and committe the opponents. Such attacker that possess such qualities are Torres, Kaka, Tevez, David Villa, Aguero and Messi and a player maker like Iniesta, that's what i feel.
I disagree with Sam. Chelsea absolutely do need Aguero - and Villa and/or Pato, too. Aguero has the strength, speed, agility and two-footedness that would be an ideal foil for the aging Drogba and Anelka. Drogba will be suspended for the CL group stage (at least). Robinho hasn't impressed in the Prem. Pato could be the creative midfielder Chelsea need, rather than an out-an-out attacker, though what that would mean for Joe Cole is anyone's guess. After seeing Glen Johnson's tremendous performance today for England, I might have to re-think the GJ v Bos debate. Ashley Young is definitely work-in-progress but his potential is enormous. He just needs to be surrounded by great players to learn from rather than the journeymen that play for Villa. Is he better than Malouda? Not yet, but he will be soon. So, Roman, go for Aguero, Villa, Pato and Young, please. And Johnson if you really believe 6+5 is coming (I don't). Goodbye Ferreira, Belletti, Deco (all to Scolari's new team Bunyodkor?), Kalou (to Arsenal) and perhaps Carvalho (to re-join TSO at Inter).
Aguero will be eaten by English defence.
He is used to play offencive Spanish football.
Chelsea has to find someone who knows how to score in England and somebody who nows how to play phisical.
agureo will combine well with anelka an drog and smash in at least 17 goals in 09/10
dollah salleh.. hahaha.
nice one Real Maju United FC.
aku rase zainal abidin ok gak. sathianathan ker. shebby singh lg bgs! hahaha.
AGERO RIGHT FOR MANCHESTER UNITED
I think Chelsea made mistake when they sold G Johnson. Now as the FIFA president is backing UEFA on 6 + 5 system which will take effect from nest year, then Chelsea need to get Johnson and A Young so there will be enough English players to chose from. About Sergio Aguero, He is a good player, but I don't think Chelsea need him. The player Chelsea need is a midfielder and a forwarder who can do something different in the team. Chelsea need Robinho to say the fact. He will be perfectly fit to the system. Chelsea should try and buy David Vila also to partner Drogba upfront. Anelka is fading off and he will not be the same Anelka we saw last season. They should sell Anelka since we have Pizarro, Ben Saha, and Di santos in the Team. They should also allow Alex to leave and give chance to Mancienne as we need more English to start a match. Chelsea mixed the chance to sign parto after the FIFA world Club competition and now here is the chance again. Chealse also need a cover up for Anshly Cole and Peter Cech. Chelsea shouls allow Calvaho, Deco, Alex, Fereira, Ballack Anelka and Kalou to Leave and bring in, Robinho, Parto, David Villa,a Goal Keeper, Left Back, CHELSEA WILL BE EUROPEAN CHAMPION FOR 2YEARS BEFORE 2012.
please play scott sinclair hes exactly what everyone is saying we need hes english, young and has the flair and pace that we need and plus he doesnt cost any money coz hes ours.
I think we should by him he looks like a very good player that will be a new star at chelsea accept his £50m buy out clause is too steep and he wants somthing ridiculos like £260,000 a week. if we can get him for cheaper than that thenyes hes well worth it. Chelsea team next year (4,3,3): Chech, bosingwa, terry, mancienne, a. cole, essien, lampard, mikel, a. young, anelka, aguero. but team team will change when drogba comes back from supension. p.s please dont buy pirlo he will be an even more of a flop than shevhenko hes old hes slow the only thing he can do is pass and he wont be able to do that well in the preimer leauge because it so much quicker and the italian leauge. keep the £20m pounds and spend it on a good youth development so we dont have to buy all these young players from other teams.
Aguero and Pato are young, fast and proven. They would certainly sort out Chelsea's aging front line - both domestically and in the CL, where The Drog is likely to be banned for the group stage. Ashley Young would be my pick of the English talent, but that would probably spell the end of Malouda. No need to spend money on Glen Johnson - he's not as good as Bosingwa and we have Mancienne as cover anyway. Add in a creative midfielder (Deco didn't make the grade and only came because of Scolari) to partner Lampard and Essien (with Mikel in the holding role) and we'd have a tremendous shot at everything. But, as Guus said, we need to add depth, so beware of selling too many players. Sheva, Pizarro, Deco and Ferreira are all surplus to requirements, but don't be so quick to dump Carvalho and Belletti - it only takes an injury and a suspension to find we have only one central defender if Carvalho goes, and that's what undid us in mid-season a year ago.
I think AGUERO is the right man in Chelsea! But not Ancelotti!!! they can sign another manager such as Dollah Salleh!!!
Chelsea should buy Zhirkov, Young, pato and ribery........ my chelsea team....... pt.cech, g.johnson, terry, mancienna, a.cole, Essien, lampard, pirlo or zhirkov, ribery, A.young, pato.....i think it could be the team to win champ lg........
aguero is suitable for chelsea to combine with anelka and drogba.CHELSEAAAAAAAAAAA
YES he is !!! buy Aguero adn leave Alexandre Pato alone !!! he's heart is with Milan !!! Leonardo has discovered him, that's why I think he won't leave Milan, and with Dzeko coming up, Milan will have a superb offensive duet : Pato - Dzeko !
chelsea will most probably stick with the 4-3-3 formation...the only change being that chelsea could play 3 frwds like d barca system... so if pato or aguero come...dey would surely fit into the system...all chelsea needs is a creative frwd...dats it!!!!....v hv kakuta,stoch,manciennne....dey will develop into bright stars....need to give dem chances in d carling cup n fa cup.....
