Bogdanovic plays as Malta lose

Barnsley striker Daniel Bogdanovic played the full 90 minutes but could not prevent Malta crashing to a 4-0 World Cup qualifying defeat in Sweden.

Bogdanovic had two efforts superbly saved by Sweden goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson in the first half of his country's Group One clash in Gothenburg.

But Kim Kallstrom opened the scoring for the Swedes before the break and a six-minute spell after the interval produced goals for Daniel Majstorovic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Berg.

Bogdanovic, who arrived at Oakwell from Lokomotiv Sofia for an undisclosed fee in January, scored five goals in 15 appearances for the Tykes last season.
