Turner satisfied with strengthening

Hartlepool director of sport Chris Turner is "very pleased" with the way his summer squad strengthening is coming along and revealed there are more new faces to come.

Neil Austin became Pools` fourth close-season signing on Wednesday, arriving on a free transfer from Darlington to fill the problematic right-back slot.

Turner is now focusing on bringing in a new goalkeeper, left-back and striker.

He told the Hartlepool Mail: "I'm reluctant to talk about names or positions, but obviously we need a goalkeeper and we're quite a way down the avenue to getting one in the next couple of weeks.

"There are a couple of players from outside the UK and if we were to get these lads it would certainly strengthen our team. We're very pleased with how things have gone so far.

"We're building from the back as well as looking to improve our strikeforce."
