Valencia have turned down a reported offer from Chelsea for David Villa, with the Spain international seemingly set to join Real Madrid instead.
Chelsea's Spanish scout, Juan Cruz Sol, met with Los Che president Manuel Llorente in the club's headquarters to discuss the future of the 27-year-old striker.
Cruz Sol spoke to the Spanish media after the meeting, with Valencian newspaper Levante quoting him as saying: "Chelsea made an important offer for him (Villa).
"But the answer (from Valencia) was 'no' because negotiations with Real Madrid are very advanced. Hence, there's no possibility that Villa will go to Chelsea because he wants to go to Real Madrid.
"The purpose of the meeting was to have have some contact and know with certainty what Villa's situation is. Now we have clear ideas and we know that to expect."

Peter Kenyon has to be sacked. He's let us down many times. Robinho, Kaka, Villa, now we mostly likely to miss out on Pato, Aguero, Ribery, Zhirkov, or even tevez, He just seems to think time is in his hands when actually thats not the case. All good players are getting signed, Chelsea gonna get rubbish players. Roman get a new chief executive who has good luring skills and knows how to do business....
i think aguero is better suited to our style, he would be just as good playing as a winger as he quick and creative while still strong and he is very good in the air even thought he is small so he would a natural replacement for drogba
I feel sorry with Real' manager in the coming season. He will have no choice in players and will have lots of problems in managing these great stars. See who will be the next manager and for how long.
Real is now overflowing with stars. If Villa too joins, I can't see where that'll leave the likes of Raul and RvN. Can't see Higuain being sold of either. Hypothetically Real's starting 11 would look like this
Villa, Higuain - Cristiano, Kaka, Lass, Robben/Sneijder- S. Ramos, Pepe, Garay, Marcelo - Casillas. Bench- Raul, RvN, Huntelaar, Diarra etc.
While on paper it looks good, there are big egos to satisfy and where's the space for El Siete (Raul)? A team without it's captain in the starting 11, that's like Tottenham now. Now there's a big chance for the ego clash of the decade.
nr 1 that's called a "mobility kill"
Comment 1, if it is true that madrid will win because they have bought all the players, why didn't it work for chelsea, who started all this trying to buy success. Barca will still dominate spain and europe, team spirit still counts for a lot.
ha ha ha ha its all starting to go wrong for los galacticos already. I hope there therapist are ready for all the ego's and the stadiums door ways have been widened because it sounds to me like there will be 1 too many big heads dancing around madrid...
GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED
God. This isn't going to work out, is it? Too many individual egos. All these players are no use to anyone if they don't work well as a team. The reason Barcelona are great and win is because they have the chemistry and all their great players work as a unit and play for hte team. If these players at Real don't work together, then it's not going to work.
villa make a big mistake if he not coming to chelsea......in real team is not space for him....He has so much to show at chelsea,,,is perfect for the blue's
f*ck this!!!!! real Madrid will win not because they are strong but because they have bought all the players from all the other teams!!!!!!!!!!
