Kris Commons is determined to make it two promotions in two years after swapping Nottingham Forest for Premier League hopefuls Derby. The winger, who became the first player in 15 years to switch from Forest to Derby when he moved to Pride Park this summer, believes the Rams are well-equipped to bounce back to the top flight at the first attempt.
"Having come down last season we want to get back there as soon as possible. I have signed a three-and-a-half-year deal and right from the off we are working as hard as possible to get back to the elite league," the 24-year-old told the club's official website.
"I think when you look at the size of the club, the manager, the facilities here and the fan base, Derby is definitely a club going places.
"(Manager) Paul Jewell has said he wants to get the best squad in the league and for us to be as competitive as possible so we are all going to be fighting for places, which can only be a good thing for the club."

sorry, but i disagree....mark my words....Derby will finish in the top 3...and out of their depth Forest in the bottom 3 and back where they now belong....a week is a long time in football.......a decade is comparable to several lifetimes and Forest will never again grace the top flight ....Kris Commons will do well under Jewell.....mark my words
calls himself a nottinghamshies lad and reds fan remember kris its a long walk back up the A52 !!!sheep s******
what a joker Commons is.Derby will be lucky to get 1 performance out of every 3 from him.If he was poor for many games in the third tier just imagine how bad he'll be in the CCC. Derby fans will be booing him before Christmas.
