Curtis could start for Rovers

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore could hand trialist defender John Curtis an opportunity to impress in Saturday's friendly at home to Liverpool.The former Manchester United and Blackburn full-back has been at Prenton Park for the past 10 days as he bids to win a contract with the League One outfit.

Curtis is seeking a club following his release by QPR and Moore said: "John has been doing pre-season training with us.

"He's a quality right-back with a lot of experience. He might play in some of the pre-season games."

Rovers have completed four signings this summer, bringing in Gareth Edds, Edrissa Sonko, George O'Callaghan and Bas Savage.
