Northampton's player of the year Danny Jackman has pledged his future to the Cobblers by signing a new 12-month extension to his contract. The 25-year-old defender arrived on a free transfer from Gillingham last summer and enjoyed an impressive first season. The new deal means he will stay at Sixfields until June 2010.
Boss Stuart Gray said: "We are in talks with two or three players over extending their contracts and this is the first one to come to fruition and that is great news.
"Danny deserves his extension because he is a very good player who enjoyed a good season last season. He has quality and a first-class attitude. He is a sought-after player and he is adaptable which is very important."
