Keeper makes Bulls loan switch

Fri 11 Jul, 04:45 PM

Charlton Athletic's young goalkeeper Darren Randolph has moved to League One outfit Hereford United on a season-long loan deal. The 21-year-old, a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, remains behind the experienced Nicky Weaver in the pecking order at The Valley and will link up with the League One newcomers on Monday.

Randolph made two Carling Cup appearances for the Addicks last term before spending much of the season on loan at Bury.

He was recalled by Charlton boss Alan Pardew when Weaver picked up a one-match ban but his subsequent solitary league appearance against Southampton ended in disappointment when his gaffe gifted the visitors their goal in a 1-1 draw.

Randolph made his Addicks debut against Liverpool at Anfield on the last day of the 2006-07 Premier League season and has also enjoyed loan spells at Gillingham and Accrington.
