Bristol City defender Richard Keogh could be on his way to Southend after turning down the Robins' offer of a new contract at Ashton Gate.Keogh was offered a new deal 12 months ago but after limited first-team opportunities last season has finally rejected the offer.
"It looks like he has made his mind up that his future is not going to be here," City manager Gary Johnson told the club's official website.
"He has chosen not to sign the offer, and I think he has missed out on a couple of good seasons and missed out financially too.
"Richard is under 24 and has been offered a new deal by us. That means we reserve the right to compensation if a club does want to take him.
"I presume he is getting advice and now we just have to wait and see where he ends up. Then, of course, the team has to do a deal with us."
