Fri 11 Jul, 05:30 PM

Notts County manager Ian McParland has added Carl Muggleton to his backroom staff as the club's new goalkeeping coach. The 39-year-old, who has played for the Magpies' local rivals Chesterfield and Mansfield in recent seasons, will work with County's keepers on a part-time basis.

"We are delighted to welcome Carl on board. He has bags of experience and is an honest professional who has been looking to get into coaching," County boss McParland told the club's official website.

"With the position vacant, we spoke to Carl at length and he was only too happy to join us. I am sure all our goalkeepers will enjoy working with him."

Muggleton, who has made over 600 appearances during a career spanning almost 22 years, replaces Steve Cherry who left the role earlier this month.
