Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven fear a deal to re-sign Blackburn Rovers defender Andre Ooijer, who turns 34 on Friday, is beyond their reach.Ooijer left PSV for Blackburn in 2006 and has 12 months remaining on his Ewood Park contract.

The experienced defender admitted at the end of last season that he may leave Blackburn to secure regular football.

He has been linked with AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord, while former club PSV are also interested in a deal.

However, PSV coach Huub Stevens believes his club may not be able to afford to sign the Holland international.

Stevens told Voetbal International: "He has played at PSV and he would bring a huge load of experience with him.

"So, he is an interesting player indeed.

"He is tied to his club in England, so at this moment he absolutely looks a financial bridge too far."
