Coventry boss Chris Coleman has told Chris Birchall he is free to look for another club after failing to make an impact at the Ricoh last term. The Trinidad and Tobago international made only a handful of appearances for the Sky Blues and spent time on loan at Scottish Premier League side St Mirren.
Coleman has informed the 24-year-old he is not in his plans for the forthcoming campaign, but was quick to praise the midfielder's professionalism during his time at the Ricoh Arena.
"I spoke with Birchy last season and told him that we think it will be best if he looks for another club. I discussed that with his agent too," Coleman told the Coventry Telegraph.
"He hasn't been an ounce of bother. He is a really good pro who comes in and does his work and is happy for the team when they win.
"He is training with us now and is training really hard and well but he knows the squad I am trying to assemble and it will be hard for Chris to play, but he knows that and he has been a delight."
