Jimmy White sparked into form to make it to final Sangsom 6-Red World Grand Prix in Bangkok where he will face Barry Hawkins.
White struggled to qualify out his group but beat Shaun Murphy and Ricky Walden on Friday to make the last eight and then enjoyed come from behind victories over Mark King and Mark Williams to reach the decider.
Against King in the quarters, White was 3-0 down before edging a 7-6 thriller and then against Williams he was also 3-0 down but then won seven of the next eight to secure a 7-4 victory.
Hawkins booked his place in the final by defeating Judd Trump 7-2 in the semi-finals. He also beat Ratchapol Pu-Ob-Orm, Noppadon Noppachorn and Dave Harold in the knockout stage to get to the final.
