Director of football Lennie Lawrence is confident Bristol Rovers will make further additions to their squad before the start of the season.

The Pirates have managed to secure the signatures of Dominic Blizzard and Carl Regan while also fending off interest in star striker Rickie Lambert this summer.

Lawrence is hopeful first-team coach Paul Trollope will be able to add more players to his squad to cement the good business he has done so far.

"We have brought in Dominic in. Carl and they were two of our main pre-season targets and I'm reasonably confident we will add one or two more before the start of the season," he told his club's official website.

"I think the team that finished last season, with the addition of Dominic and Carl, has great potential and does excite me."
