Winning start for Hornets

Watford opened their pre-season account with a 4-1 win over Boreham Wood.

Malky Mackay named a strong Hornets outfit for the traditional encounter, while also utilising his squad, and it paid dividends at Meadow Park.

Debutant Danny Graham grabbed a brace while Michael Bryan and Jon Harley also got in on the act.

  1. Watford's Jobi McAnuff missed last weekends­ friendly against Borehamwood, alledgedly due to ill­ health. However, he spent yesterday with his agent Tony­ Finnigan thrashing out a deal to join Roy Keane at­ Ipswich. Apparently Watford are thrilled as they wanted­ to unload him due to his absurdly high wages, arrogance­ & laziness.
