Swansea boss Roberto Martinez will be without skipper Garry Monk when his side host Brentford in their Carling Cup first round tie.Monk will serve a one-match ban after he was dismissed for two bookable offences in their Championship opener against Charlton on Saturday.
Gorka Pintado and Angel Rangel are both sidelined with groin problems, with the latter expected to return within the next fortnight.
Striker Jason Scotland, who has recently recovered from a groin injury, could be in line for a start after a brief 14 minutes cameo at the Valley.
Federico Bessone, Albert Serran and Stefan Morrison are in contention to make their competitive debuts for the Swans after missing out on Saturday.
