Monaco agree deal to sign Simic

Monaco have reached an agreement with AC Milan to sign defender Dario Simic, both clubs confirmed on Monday.The Croatia international will travel to the Principality on Tuesday where he will undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a two-year deal the following day.

Simic, 32, has spent the past six years at the Rossoneri after moving from bitter rivals Internazionale, and helped Milan to two Champions League trophies.

"After several weeks of negotiation between the two clubs, the Monaco directors and their Italian counterparts at AC Milan have come to an agreement for the transfer of Dario Simic," read a statement on the French club's website.

"The Croatia defender will arrive tomorrow, Tuesday August 12 in the Principality.

"After completing the traditional medical test, he will commit himself on Wednesday to ASM for two years."

Simic is Croatia's most capped player, with 99 appearances to his name.

  2. It's not wise for Milan to sell defenders at this time. They must buy a defender before 1 of September or their Scudeto hopes may die
