Murray set to miss Cumbrians clash

Shrewsbury could be without Paul Murray for the clash with Carlisle in the first round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday evening.The midfielder has suffered an Achilles injury and boss Paul Simpson will take a look at him before kick-off to determine whether he will be able to feature against their League One opponents.

Fellow midfielder David Hunt has resumed training but is still some way short of match fitness.

Summer signing Grant Holt should continue in attack after scoring on his competitive debut in the 4-0 win over Macclesfield at the weekend.

Fellow new arrival Graham Coughlan will also be hoping to continue his scoring record while Dave Hibbert has staked a claim for a starting berth after coming off the bench to complete the rout.

Midfielder Chris Humphrey could also play more minutes after coming on late at the weekend following a knee injury sustained in pre-season.
