Brentford defender Sam Wood faces a late fitness test ahead of the Carling Cup trip to Championship outfit Swansea on Tuesday evening.The summer signing from Bromley suffered an ankle knock during Saturday's defeat by Bury and was replaced by Brett Johnson.

Striker Charlie MacDonald, another close-season recruit from Southend, will have to wait a little longer for his debut having failed to recover from a groin injury in time.

Gary Smith is still struggling with the knock which kept him out at the weekend and Ryan Dickson remains a doubt with a back problem.

Boss Andy Scott has added youngsters Lewis Ochoa and Fraser Franks to the squad with seven substitutes allowed in the competition this season.
