Mikel Arteta believes Everton's players need to stop talking about the possibility of new signings arriving at Goodison Park.
Everton boss David Moyes has yet to add to his squad over the summer, despite being linked with a string of potential new arrivals.
Reports have claimed that CSKA Moscow striker Vagner Love is close to joining the Toffees, while Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Moutinho remains a target.
However, ahead of the start of the season on Saturday, influential midfielder Arteta feels it is time to leave the matter of recruiting new players in the hands of Moyes and chairman Bill Kenwright.
Waiting
"I think we need to stop talking about the new signings," Arteta told evertonTV.
"The manager, the chairman, whatever it is they have to do they are going to do it for the best of the club.
"They know what they're doing. The manager is very keen to bring in top players and he's been waiting. He doesn't want to bring us two names, he wants to bring three of four class players.
"We've got three weeks now left [of the transfer window], so hopefully we will do it."
