Johnson Shuns City Offer - Report

Mon 11 Aug, 09:09 AM

Manchester City star Michael Johnson has rejected the new contract he has been offered, skysports.com understands.

The England Under-21 star has three years left on his current deal but he is now a hugely important part of City's squad.

As such City offered him a new five-year deal to reward him for his progress.

But Johnson has shunned the offer, which is sure to interest a number of clubs who have already shown an interest in the player.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton are all thought to hold a strong interest in the 20-year-old and could be tempted to launch a bid.

Despite rejecting the deal, it is understood that talks are continuing between City and Johnson's representatives.

  3. I amazes me how many non-City supporters read the City news articles and then make some crass commemts, like dbowzee has done, without giving any indication as to where his own loyalties lie. I can only assume he supports some @#$% team that he is ashamed to admit to following and is jealous of Manchester City's profile. Don't be jealous of us dbowzee, stop watching @#$% and come and join us to watch a real premiership team in a real premiership stadium.
