Shane Byrne claimed pole position - his fifth of the season - for the final round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch.
The Airwaves Ducati rider, who clinched the title for a second time, in the penultimate round, lapped the 1.1986 mile Indy circuit in 45.799secs.
Leon Haslam, despite a heavy tumble in the opening minutes of the session, bounced back to put his HM Plant Honda second fastest, 46.095secs.
Cal Crutchlow ran third fastest with Tom Sykes, the Rizla Suzuki rider who is scrapping for the runner-up spot with Haslam, completes the front row of the grid.
