Hull City boss Phil Brown has won the Premier League Manager of the Month award.
The 49-year-old led his newly-promoted side to 2-1 wins at Newcastle United and Arsenal and a 2-2 draw at home to Everton.
The excellent results helped the Tigers bounce back from a 5-0 home defeat to Wigan at the end of August, while they were followed by a big win at Tottenham Hotspur on October 5.
Hull, in their first season in the top flight, lie third in the Premier League standings.
The Player of the Month award was won by Aston Villa forward Ashley Young.
Former Watford star Young, 23, scored twice and got two assists in a 100 per cent September for Villa, who beat Tottenham, West Brom and Sunderland.
It is the second time Young has won the award, repeating his feat of April 2008.

No-one can say that Brown did not deserve it because he obviously did! I mean, a newly promoted club with the name 'Hull city'... I mean whos heard of them? And they go and beat teams like Arsenal.... Newcastle... and Tottenham shitspur...
Well played mr. Brown, you are an inspiration to all other newely promoted managers and reinstate the feeling of 'every player has a chance' and 'In the end of the day, its 11 against 11'.
amazing how the majority are saying HULL are going down.im a HULL supporter and most i would say at the beggining of the season would have agreed with you.HOWEVER unlike most other over hyped clubs mr brown has spent wisely, very wisely and i think a mid table finish will now be achieved.please give hull city a break, they are a hard working TEAM and deserve there current dizzy heights.go go tigers
Hull are a flash in the pan; a once in a generation win at Arsenal, 2 wins over desperate clubs currently occupying the bottom 2 places in the PL and suddenly they're talking'Champions League'. I predict a bottom 8 finish and absolute, stone-cold, nailed-on certainties for relegation next season.
well robbo, rafa mighta got the gong for good hard fought results over m utd and everton. But with hull getting their results they 200% deserve it
i'm seriously reckoning hull to qualify for the uefa cup this season. i think they'll have consistency. i'm not kidding
arsenal fan by the way (whoops, we lost against hull!)
WELL DONE PHIL BROWN
what a start to the season, the tigers are playing with so much spirit and self beleif
the city is proud of you. long live the TIGERS
Hull have my respect. I salute them for their team spirit. look, they dont have a world-class individual player like cristiano ronaldo, fernando torres or lionel messi but they can still achieve so much. they totally deserve to be in the position they are in right now. they only have geovanni (possibly the best signing this season), andy dawson (who needs michael?) and boaz myhill (david james, paul robinson, robert green and joe hart all conceded more goals than him). i'm backing hull to stay in the top half by the end of the season. come on hull! united fan here btw.
congratulaions, hull have played well. Hope you stay up, however you will lose next week against my hammers
WELL DONE PHIL did'nt think he could cut it and when taylor went i thought that was it for city but i was so wrong good for him.
And as an arsenal fan for 29 years it was hard to take what hull city did but what made it worse is that I LIVE IN HULL and have all my life 39 years(the grief that i've had of the lad's has been hard to take) i hope city keep up the good work it's a great feel good factor around the town at the moment .
to be truthful i think city will finish about 12th but for the first season ever in the top flight that'll be great
Eh up,thats the kiss of death, expect to see hull slide into obscurity in the next 10 games.no higher than 16 place come end of the season
well done mr brown and hull
enjoy while it lasts, dont think you will get relegated
hope you can stay free of injurys and suspentions
nice to see a different manager and team winning for a change
and i am a spurs fan
Well Done Hull & Phill Brown a breath of fresh air
Neil
Cardiff City Fan
Even over Rafa? Not sure what you mean there Suzy.
He definitely deserves it though.
fully deserved...
nope, stoke, spurs and middlesborough, i am a Pompey fan, we need more like clubs like Hull to do well, they got there with mostly british players and we need that to continue for sake of the English game.
Mac in Iraq
Agree with this.
He deserves it even over Rafa. Ne one with those results should get the gong.
Lotsa respect for Hull at the mo. C'mon they beat arsenal so deserve to be where they are now
from a liverpool fan
Hull will still get relegated!
