Barcelona are keen on signing Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Manchester City's Robinho, and are are looking to add to their squad in the January transfer window, sporting director Txiki Begiristain said.
The European champions may need reinforcements as they will lose Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure during January's African Cup of Nations and will also be without Seydou Keita should Mali qualify for the three-week long tournament in Angola.
"There are options for us to strengthen (the squad) yes," Begiristain told the Sport newspaper.
"We will see if any of our defenders can play in central midfield," he added. "It's an option. Depending on that, we could look to buy a forward."
Asked whether Barca would make an offer for Manchester City's Brazilian forward Robinho, Begiristain said: "He is a very interesting footballer and could play (for us) in the Champions League."
Begiristain said the club was still interested in signing Bayern Munich's French forward Franck Ribery should the Bundesliga club put him on the market and added he was sure Gunners captain Fabregas would move back to Barcelona at some point.
"He's a player who fits the Barca profile," he told Sport.
"He was born suckling on football here and one day he will end up playing at the Camp Nou. I am sure."

The only one who might be able to make a difference is ribery. Xavi and ineasta already play in Cesc's favoured position, and they are both better than him, so he would just end up on the bench. Ribery could do well on one of the sides. Best if he would go left. Ribery, Ibra, Messi, what a strikers partnership it would be.
I think that every club has a right to choose players and make an offer...... but its the priviledge of the player to accept or decline.
Barca already have many players,Why must buy more and Fabregas has ARS DNA,because ARS teached him to play good football and become a world class player, not Barca. And if ARS did not bring him to London seven years ago,He would not be famous like now.
The only reason Barca are pushing now for Cesc is not to go to Madrid....They have enough force and quality in midfield for next 2-3 years. Xavi is not getting younger, but could play at high level for 2-3 more years. If Barca get Cesc now - they probably will put him on the left side (instead of Henry)....No need for Ribery - it's nonsense to pay so much for the scarface - he is good but not so much. Robinho - he is not a team player - no need of him. Could mess the dressing room as did Ronaldinho
Im an Arsenal Fun, but i dont like the way things happen @ Arsenal, we make up players for other teams, when are we ever going to buy players like other teams do, Arsene Wenger needs to reliased that the same players he sells turn against em when facing them in the other teams say Adebayour @ Man City see what happen, that simply means we sell the best player & remains with young stars who cant stand the pressure with big teams, this time around i dont expect to be among the top four @ the end of the season, we might be replaced by either Man City or Hot Spurs, we dont ve dependeble player, im pieced with that, i might even stop supporting Arsenal for postmouth
Cesc will soon come back Home where he was born and raised.
CESC IS ARSENALS KEY MAN, WOULD BARCA LET MESSI GO?
I am so sorry for Arsenal and Arsene.....
I'm a Utd fan firstly...
Why would Fabregas go to Barcelona when they have Xavi and Iniesta there already? plus Busquets, Toure and Keita? In the three man system, they need a more defensive midfielder to allow Xavi and Iniesta to create more, so if Cesc went there, he wouldn't even be a starter. Maybe in 4 or 5 years when Xavi is looking to retire, but if he moved there anytime soon, he wouldn't get anywhere near as much playing time as he would like.
As for Robinho, I hope he does go to Barca, personally I think he's rubbish, he's a big time charlie, he doesn't work hard enough to succeed in English football, his work rate levels are rubbish, so he'd be better suited to the much slower, but more technical Spanish league, I also think City play better without him, Bellamy and Petrov both give more to City.
Back to the Cesc issue again, I think he's incredible, probably the best centre mid in the world for me. But it wouldn't be the end of the world for Arsenal if he left, they'd get a huge amount of money for him, plus they have some fantastic young midfielders at the club to replace him. Denilson, Nasri, Lansbury, Song, Diaby, Rosicky, Ramsey... they have plenty of potential. Much better than my own Man Utd team do right now, our midfield is absolute pants, the only midfielder of ours who would get in the Arsenal 11 is Fletcher.

com. 23! dino! it's better if I let U know, there's no average midfielder at Barca! U are nonesense! Visca el Barca!!!
V.Valdés - Puyol, Piqué, Muniesa - S.Busquets, Fabregas, Xavi, Iniesta - Pedro, Bojan, Messi. A homegrown starting eleven. Visca el Barca!!!
Go home Cesc! Visca el Barca!!!
Just to add to it, We know he will go, but he is not needed in Barca now, so just wait till Arsenal are done, then a replacement in Wilshere, Ramsey, Nasri will be ready, maybe even Merida, till then, spanish papers should give it a rest, the boy has Kissed the gunner badge..for now.
Personally, I do not like one player grabbing all the attention of a team, especially one of the stature or Arsenal. Fabregas does not make Arsenal what it is. It is Wenger who has the most influence. If Cesc leaves, it’s fine. No one is indispensible, especially at Arsenal. Players have been leaving a lot in the past few years and Arsene/nal has learnt to cope. Just to remind you, there is Nasri, Ramsey, and Wilshere to replace him. All young players with lots of growing to do - and they can do just that at Arsenal. The difference is - Who is really committed to the team? I hope Fabregas is - otherwise it’s no train smash, just disappointment by Arsenal faithfuls.
he will go eventually. I just want him to stay for a few more years till 26. Then he can do what he wants, and we will have buit an amzing team and will have back up for cesc when he leaves.
