Spaniard Francisco Ventoso of Carmiooro/A-Style won the GP Beghelli in Italy.
Ventoso won the sprint ahead of Giovanni Visconti of Isd-Neri and Enrico Rossi of Ceramica Flaminia/Bossini Docce at the conclusion of the 185.6km race.
The winning group's time was 4:12:08 after the peloton caught escapees Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana) and Paul Martens (Rabobank) with three kilometres remaining, once the race's eight climbs had been negotiated.
Veteran Luca Paolini (Acqua & Sapone) and Dario Cataldo (Quick Step) were fourth and fifth.
