Corriere dello Sport have reported that Inter president Massimo Moratti will fund the move for Alonso, who played under Benitez for several years at Liverpool.

Moratti is reportedly dismayed by the form and injury records of Inter's current squad, and has targeted both Alonso and Bayern Munich playmaker Bastian Schweinsteiger.
