Bundesliga - Schweinsteiger considers move abroad

Eurosport - Tue, 11 Nov 17:55:00 2008

Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has admitted a move abroad interests him.

FOOTBALL 2008-2009 Bayern Schweinsteiger - 2

The Germany international's contract with the Bundesliga champions expires at the end of the current campaign.

And with negotiations on a new deal yet to begin, the 24-year-old could be allowed to leave the Allianz Arena on a free transfer.

Interest in the player is reportedly high, particularly from Italy, and a move elswhere is an option Schweinsteiger would consider.

"Playing abroad would be very attractive," Schweinsteiger told Bavarian television.

But he insisted any decision to leave the club he has been with since 1998 would not be taken lightly.

He added: "There are a lot of possibilities with Bayern. They are the best club in Germany and belong to the top five in Europe.

"It is a great honour to play for this club.

"We will just have to see how it pans out. I will not say anything for certain at the moment."

  5. Wenger is a fan of this man, heard that Madrid are bidding £25mill for Adeyabor??? We should take it and buy Schwienstieger, Ledley and Afellay in January and then in the summer, look for a worldclass central defender to partner Toure and Matuidi as our defensive midfielder. Matuidi has been compared to Diarra, which for me would be our first choice, but his price will be driven up by Man City bidding for him, plus his wages are going to be to high. I feel Cesc will leave this summer, but for me Ramsey is ready to replace him, we just need more defensive minded players behind the like of Ramsey, Diaby, Denilson, Nasri, Walcott. Add Afellay, Ledley and Schwienstieger to the mix as well and we have a well balanced midfield. My 10 midfielders would be: Ramsey, Diaby, Denilson, Matuidi, Afellay, Nasri, Walcott, Schwienstieger, Ledley and Wilshere. 3 British playes along with some talented continental boys! A strike force looking like Van-persie, Eduardo, Bentdner, Vela and Lenny will all get goals for the team! Alot of people would freak out if we lost Cesc & Adeyabaor, but i feel if we replaced them with these type of players we might be stronger. Priority is a top central defender and top defensive midfielder!!!
