The likes of Gabriel Agbonlahor (pictured), Tom Huddlestone and Joe Hart have been overlooked, paving the way for senior call-ups for the clash in Germany.

Other experienced players not included by Pearce are skipper Steven Taylor, Andrew Taylor, David Wheater, James Milner, Mark Noble and Lee Cattermole.

But Micah Richards and Aaron Lennon have been called up, while the game will give Pearce the chance to look at Southampton's Adam Lallana and Leeds youngster Fabian Delph, with the latter earning his first call-up.

Nedum Onuoha has been recalled after missing previous squads with injury problems.

Squad: Heaton (Cardiff), Lewis (Peterborough), Bertrand (Norwich), Cranie (Charlton), Gardner (Aston Villa), Mancienne (Wolves), Naughton (Sheff Utd), Onuoha (Man City), Richards (Man City), Stearman (Wolves), Cork (Southampton), Delph (Leeds), Johnson (Middlesbrough), Kightly (Wolves), Lennon (Tottenham), Muamba (Bolton), O'Hara (Tottenham), Campbell (Tottenham), Derbyshire (Blackburn), Ebanks-Blake (Wolves), Lallana (Southampton).
