Middlesbrough have confirmed they have agreed a deal to sign Slovak starlet Peter Gal-Andrezly.
The 17-year-old impressed Boro coaches whilst on trial at Rockcliffe Park earlier this year.
Boro at first denied that they had agreed to sign the Kosice midfielder, but have not confirmed there is indeed a verbal agreement in place.
Gal-Andrezly will initially join Boro's reserve squad on a loan basis until next summer with a view to a permanent deal.

Wilf Mannion, George Camsell, George Hardwick, Brian Clough, John Hickton, David Mills, Tony Mowbray, Gary Pallister, Stuart Ripley, Stuart Parnaby, Lee Catermole, Cameron Jerome, Stewart Downing, David Wheater, Tony McMahon, Andrew Taylor, Jonathon Grounds, Adam Johnson and Tom Craddock. They are just 18 names of many who have came out of the Boro youth system and have done well in the football world. It is nice to see that we are now getting better in the fact we are now producing foreign talent. Gareth Southgate, all the best, keep up the good work. Get a top 10 finish that we can build on for next season. Keep the players coming through and hopefully soon our squad will have a average age of about 22, dont fall into the trap of relying on foreign clubs to provide us players, we are already sorted with a constant supply of young talent.
Also, well done Ross Turnball. Good consistency. Hopefully you will be a England international soon.
Come on Boro!!!

English clubs are only allowed to sign up young English players for their academies if they live within a certain distance from their grounds. However, there is no restriction for signing non-English young players and bringing them through the academy. I think this rule was brought in to stop the big clubs hoovering up all the young players in the country, and maybe this is why there are now very few English players within the Man U or Arsenal set ups, and loads of foreign ones. Boro have stolen a march on the north east clubs around them, and so get a lot of youth players from the Teeside area, but they can't sign English players from outside this area without buying them from other clubs, where as foreign players Gal-Andrezly (or Brad Jones) can be signed with only a small amount needing to be paid in compensation.
Thats how I understand it anyway. The upshot is, that Southgate and the Boro scouts are doing a terrific job considering the size of the club.
but it says a lot about the youth coaching in this country that Middlesboro, with a fantastic accademy themselves, have to look outside the uk for young talent. skills coaching starts at 5 years old, and its only now that Trevor Brooking has won his battle at the FA to fund a professional coaching structure to support the amateur volunteers that coach from 5 yrs on. so its going to be another 10 years before we get a flood of English talent into the academies with the sort of ball skills the French Brazilians Croats etc etc etc take for granted. Then not only will we have the best league in the world, but the majority of players will be English again, England will win the World and European cups, and hopefully the eufa president will finally acknowledge what is going on in English football as good.
southgate... an up and coming wenger
well done boro
Another good youngster coming to a progressive club who will give youth a chance. Keep finding the young gems can only be good for the future of the club.
Up the Boro.
