Trollope: Pirates should be higher

Tue 11 Dec, 12:15 PM

First-team coach Paul Trollope firmly believes that his Bristol Rovers side are languishing in a 'false position' in League One.The Pirates, promoted back to the third tier last season after a six-year absence, have struggled to adapt and are just two places and four points above the relegation zone.

Trollope said: "I believes our performances have warranted more and I feel we are in a false position - but most of the teams around us would be saying that as well.

"We have tough games to come over Christmas but we believe we can pick up enough points to move up the table.

"We have set ourselves a short-term goal of still being in the FA Cup and in the top-half of the table after Christmas. We have done one part of it and now the harder bit is to come."
