Matt Hill hopes his debut display against Derby has given manager Mick McCarthy a selection poser ahead of Saturday's clash against Barnsley. The left-back was struck down with a knee injury shortly after arriving at Molineux from Preston back in September and was forced to wait three months before making his bow in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Rams.
The form of Stephen Ward has also played a big factor in Hill having to wait so long for his chance to shine, but he is now desperate to play a part in the club's promotion charge.
"Obviously it's been a bad start for myself and now I'm just pleased to get involved," said the 27-year-old on the club's official website.
"I'm just glad to get a taste of first-team football because the competition for places is there for everyone to see. I've been sitting here and waiting for my chance because Stephen Ward has been excellent.
"All I can do is go out there and do my best and I just hope I've given the boss a bit of food for thought."
