Partridge expects a tight battle

Thu 11 Dec, 08:00 PM

Chester winger Richie Partridge feels "one goal could prove enough" as his side face Notts County in a League Two clash on Saturday. The former Liverpool midfielder, 28, was introduced as a second-half substitute at Bournemouth last weekend as he continues his rehabilitation from a thigh strain, but is determined to play his part against County.

"One goal could prove enough on Saturday because both Notts County and ourselves have been defending so well," he told the Chester Evening Leader.

"(County player) Mike Edwards is a good mate of mine and he's told me that they are playing quite well at the moment, but they have been conceding the odd goal or two like us.

"They beat us 1-0 at home and away last season and I think it will be a tight game this time round.

"I feel we must attack them the best we can and it's up to us to break them down with us being the home side."
