Cardiff new boy Peter Enckelman is looking to the future as he prepares to spend the rest of the season at Ninian Park. The Blackburn goalkeeper will spend the rest of the season with the Bluebirds, following the return of previous loan goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to Manchester City.

The Finland stopper has made just three first-team appearances in nearly four years at Ewood Park and could effectively be putting himself in the shop window with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

He told the club's official website: "You never know in football. For me to stay here permanently, I have to impress the manager Dave Jones.

"In any job you have to impress the boss. Cardiff is a club on the up and I will doing the best I can to help them achieve what they want to achieve.

"The move all happened so quickly. By the time I had spoken to Dave the transfer was pretty much agreed. It is a good chance for me to get a game or two."
