A Grant Holt double sent Nottingham Forest on their way to a 4-0 thrashing of League One promotion rivals Leyton Orient at the City Ground.Sean Thornton rattled the Forest crossbar from 25 yards out before the home side took the lead against the run of play in the 31st minute.
Arron Davies took a short corner to Kris Commons and his cross was headed firmly home by Holt.
Orient again had chances at the start of the second half before Forest were awarded a penalty when goalkeeper Stuart Nelson sent Holt flying. Holt tucked away the penalty in the 53rd minute and after that Orient capitulated.
Commons cut in from the right to score with a left-foot shot in off the far post in the 72nd minute and in the final minute, substitutes Emile Sinclair and Matt Thornhill combined for Thornhill to score his first senior goal for the club.
