Terry yet to speak with Capello

Sat 12 Jan, 10:15 AM

John Terry admits he has yet to speak to new England manager Fabio Capello and has targeted a return to action in the clash with Switzerland.Terry captained England under former boss Steve McClaren, but the defender has revealed he has yet to be contacted by Capello.

However, Terry - who has been sidelined with a fractured foot since Chelsea's match with Arsenal in December - is hopeful he will regain fitness in order to lead his country when they host Switzerland at Wembley on February 6.

"I've not made contact and he (Capello) has not made contact with myself at the moment," Terry told Sky Sports News.

"But it is still a small target for myself to be fit for that game. I really hope I can be.

"At the moment I am just trying to get myself fit and work hard for Chelsea and we'll see where we go from there."

And Terry, who was injured in a challenge with Arsenal's Emanuel Eboue, insists his rehabilitation is going well and that reports suggesting he has suffered a set back in his recovery are unfounded.

"I've got rid of the crutches and am in the big boot, which is not the best looking but supports the ankle a little bit more," Terry added.

"The bones have all healed and it (the supportive boot) is just to support it and make sure for another week. Hopefully this comes off on Monday.

"I'm doing rehab in the pool and a lot of swimming and walking and light jogging and fingers crossed I'll be about two or three weeks."
