Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill insists he has no intention of selling Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young amid speculation over their future.Seven-goal Agbonlahor has already been linked with a £15million move move to Arsenal while Young has earned rave reviews and gained his first England cap against Austria in November.
But O'Neill is determined to build his side around the duo as Villa look to push for a European place during the second half of the campaign.
O'Neill said: "Have I had any queries from other teams about Young and Agbonlahor? No, we haven't thankfully. We've had interest from other teams about other players.
"I'm pleased to say no-one has come in for Gabby and Young. I'm hoping that one, they think it will be thrown out immediately and two, that we are trying to build something here and those players have been fantastic for us.
"I wouldn't sell them. Arsenal didn't make a bid for Gabby. I am sure you wouldn't be surprised that some journalist wakes up in the morning and would think 'I'll just disturb a few people today' with a story like that.
"Are Agbonlahor and Young unbuyable? I don't know where you are going with this, but they will be going nowhere. We will repel everything.
"They have been a major reason why we have been doing so well and we wouldn't want to disturb it now.
"Of course, If Aston Villa do not do anything in the next couple of seasons then I am sure all bets are off and everybody changes.
"But we are trying to do something here and they are the sort of players we want to build things around for the next six or seven years."
Agbonlahor, a product of Villa's Academy, has been a first-team regular since O'Neill took charge of Villa 17 months ago initially in a wide role and then as an out-and-out striker.
There has been speculation that the England Under-21 player will be named in Fabio Capello's first squad for the friendly international against Switzerland at Wembley on February 6.
Young cost an initial £8million when signed from Watford 12 months ago and, after adjusting to life in the Premier League, has been a constant thorn in the side of opposition defences.
