Chris Hughton has revealed Newcastle have taken Danish forward Peter Lovenkrands on trial - and are hoping to sign 'two or three players'.The former Rangers star was set to return to Glasgow to train, following his release by German outfit Schalke.
However, the 28-year-old is now heading for Tyneside to try and win a move to St James' Park.
"He's out of contract but he is coming in for us to have a look at," said Magpies number two Hughton. "He is an experienced player with pace. So I think it gives us an opportunity to look at him.
"There is work going on behind the scenes to bring in the two or three players we need."
