Thornton back to boost O's boss

Mon 12 Jan, 03:15 PM

Leyton Orient welcome back Sean Thornton following his one-match ban as they host Sheffield United in the FA Cup third round. The midfielder was forced to miss last Saturday's clash with Leicester after being sent off against Colchester on December 28.

Right-back Stephen Purches took his place in the centre of the park at the Walkers Stadium, but he should return to full-back against the Blades.

That could see Andrew Cave-Brown drop to the bench while Wayne Gray remains the Os' only injury absentee as he continues to be sidelined with a knee problem.

Otherwise manager Martin Ling has no new injuries or suspensions to worry about ahead of the game, which was postponed on January 3 due to a frozen pitch.
