John Halls has returned to Premiership strugglers Reading following the end of his one-month loan spell at Championship side Crystal Palace.The right-back made five appearances for Palace, but with Danny Butterfield back from injury Eagles boss Neil Warnock has decided to send him back to the Madejski Stadium.

"After the one month we couldn't take him until the end of the season, we could only take him for 93 days which would take us to the end of March," Warnock told the club's official website.

"It could be that we take him later in the season if needs be."
