Bryan Robson feels he still has the support of most Sheffield United fans as he prepares for what could be a make-or-break clash at West Brom.
The Blades start the match at The Hawthorns in 17th place in the Championship, with former Albion player and manager Robson under extreme pressure ahead of a meeting with United plc chairman Kevin McCabe on Wednesday.
He will not have helped his cause by blaming the negativity coming from the stands at Bramall Lane for his team's failure to beat lowly Scunthorpe on Saturday, but he feels the majority are still behind him as they prepare to face second-placed Albion.
"It's just as well we're not bottom of the league, when you get a certain section of the fans who get together and criticise and they go that way, [but] there are also loads of fans out there who are very supportive and very helpful," Robson told the club website.
"I still think Sheffield United is a big club, it's got great potential. It is up to me and the players to get the performances right on the pitch."
Ugo Ehiogu (hamstring) and Jon Stead (hip) are set to miss out for the Blades, with Matt Kilgallon likely to partner Chris Morgan at the back.
Roman Bednar and Bostjan Cesar are both doubts for the Baggies with groin injuries. Robert Koren (calf) remains a doubt but Ishmael Miller (hamstring) is back in training and could feature.
Watford welcome back Lee Williamson and Jobi McAnuff after suspension to face Leicester, who are just three points above the drop zone.
Crystal Palace have not won any of their last three matches but could leapfrog Ipswich into the play-off places with a victory over the Tractor Boys at Selhurst Park.
Town welcome back Luis Castro Sito after a three-game ban while Clint Hill (ankle) should return at left-back for Palace.
There is a big game at Layer Road, with Preston looking to pull away from danger by beating Colchester. North End boss Alan Irvine will check on the fitness of Callum Davidson (thigh) and Lewis Neal (hamstring) before the trip to Essex, while Us striker Kevin Lisbie (ankle) requires a fitness test.
Coventry begin life after Iain Dowie with a home clash against Cardiff, Stoke could break into the top two with a home win over Southampton while Hull will be aiming to climb into the top six with a draw or a win at Norwich .
Struggling Sheffield Wednesday are at home to promotion chasers Charlton, Blackpool host Wolves, Barnsley face a long trip to Plymouth and big-spending QPR take on Burnley at Loftus Road.
