Austria's Maria Holaus has been forced to cut short her season after a serious fall during the women's World Cup super-G race at Sestriere.
The 24-year-old suffered head injuries and a torn knee ligament and was airlifted to a Turin hospital on Sunday.
"Maria Holaus won't be able to ski for at least six weeks and that means that the season is over for her," explained Austrian team doctor Christian Hoser.
Holaus achieved her first World Cup success this season winning the super-G at Cortina d'Ampezzo and finishing second in the downhill at St. Moritz.
